Asbestos Survey

What is an Asbestos Survey?

The purpose of an asbestos survey is to identify asbestos risk and assist towards minimising exposure with identification of the asbestos-containing material (ACM).

An asbestos management survey exists to locate and prevent, as far as reasonably practicable, the release of asbestos fibres until the asbestos-containing material (ACM) in a building is scheduled to be removed, in advance of maintenance.

A refurbishment and / or demolition survey exists to support both prior and post changes to building fabric where asbestos-containing material (ACM) is identified.

What is included in asbestos surveys?

This varies depending on the type of survey required, more detailed sampling is usually undertaken at the point of the asbestos survey.

A qualified assessor visits your premises to undertake the selected / required survey, if required, a selection of samples will be taken away for testing in a controlled laboratory environment.

An asbestos survey report presenting results and findings will then be compiled and returned for consideration / further discussion.
